Will build a softball field, a field of dog training, and will move the court hammer throw
The City Council, through the Barcelona Sports Institute, will begin in the coming weeks the improvements of various sports facilities located in Montjuïc. On one hand, will build a practice field for softball to play the current baseball field, specifically street Pierre de Coubertin.
Secondly, it will create a field of dog training (Agility) located in Polvorí street.
Finally, move the court Serrahima the hammer throw, which will be located in an area close to the athletics tracks which can be accessed also by street Polvorí.
The construction work began in the softball field in the coming days the execution of the first phase, which consists of a stand start work, build a marker construct bullpens 2 (which are the areas where the players are warming before entering the field), the construction of 2 dogouts (areas shaped cave where sit the players, the coach and auxiliary equipment) and installation external network, the installation of the fixed network inside the canopy, and the execution of reinforced earth retaining wall of the stand.
The surface area of the project is of 11,500 m2 and the cost of the work is 618,368 euros. It is expected within six months of work.
The City is also about to start work on the creation of training camp street dogs Polvorí. The work includes the construction of two new fields, one for training and one competition to replace that currently exists. In addition, the facilities will have prefabricated modules for offices and toilets, ramps and adapted stairs, bleachers, renovated perimeter fences, install ation and expansion of the network of lighting, new networks irrigation, water supply, sewerage and drainage of the land. Also installed a source watered dogs. The intervention area is 7,000 m2 and the project cost of 475,000 euros. The work is expected to run over a period of 12 weeks.
