Sonar + D, Gamelab, Loop or B’ARS are some of the twelve digital creativity events grouped under the label ‘Digital Juny’ promoted by the Generalitat

In the wake of the South by Southwest, a prestigious American festival that brings together various artistic disciplines Congress, the Department of Culture of the Government this morning ‘Digital Juny’, an initiative that aims to bring together twelve UFC on new technologies, art and innovation to be held this coming June in Barcelona, among which include Sonar + D, Gamelab, Loop or B’ARS.
In the words of Minister of Culture, Ferran Mascarell, the aim of this proposal is “to value the events that are being made in Catalonia in the digital environment”. To this end, the Department is committed to coordinating the celebration of different events and also to allocate a total of EUR 746 500 of its Plan of Digital Culture. “The idea is to give visibility to this sector,” he pointed Mascarell, something he believes necessary “for the public world and the private world join efforts.”

While these events will continue to operate independently, the CEO of Creació i Empreses Culturals, Jordi Sellas, does not rule out that “if to solidify this cooperation” may arise in future issues creating a subscription that allows attend several from them. During the presentation of ‘Digital Juny’ at Arts Santa Monica in Barcelona they have been conducted demonstrations of some of the projects currently being developed in Catalonia in the field of art and new technologies.
