Renfe has launched on Monday a free Wi-Fi in Plaça Catalunya station. It is providing wireless, part of the plan to modernize services Rodalies de Catalunya and after this premiere will be extended to more stations.
According to the rail operator, with this service, “each user can use all your devices either from a single connection, thus improving usability, speed and convenience of access to the service.” From Monday Plaça Catalunya Station WLAN will connect via fiber over 100 Mb on seven access points, an ADSL connection in technical spaces with routers and powerful antennas to ensure the arrival of connection and points Hotspot service as a source of wireless.
The connection will be free and will last 15 minutes, both from the hall and from the station platforms. The first time you use it a traveler must register in Renfe.com portal, which will provide a unique username and password as client Renfe. The next time you use this wireless only need to register using this data.
Every day, more than 66,000 people travel with Rodalies de Catalunya to or from Plaça Catalunya, from any of the three lines (R1 R3 and R4) serving the station, as well as regional services of the R12 line. In addition, the station holds exchanger with lines L1 and L3 and the Railways of the Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC).
Also in Madrid and AVE trains
