The City Council not specific the type of activity related to Don Quijote to be held in the city

The fourth centenary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes is commemorated in Barcelona, although it is not yet clear how. Commissioner of Culture Department, Berta Sureda, said Tuesday that “any activity related to the book and its author will be organized” without specifying its nature or format.
The activity will be part of the Barcelona city UNESCO program literature, led by writer and journalist Marina Espasa, that in the coming weeks will announce the details and lines of work of the technical office that coordinates. Among the set of actions that are being prepared, according Sureda, there will be an act linked to the figure of the ingenious and creative throughout this year.
The tribute to the figure of Cervantes has been confirmed by the City Council in response to a request from the municipal group Ciutadans in the Committee on Social Rights, Culture and Sports. “Barcelona is the only real city cited in Don Quixote,” he stressed the council Marilen Barceló, after seeking an institutional homage to the figure of Cervantes and his work at the height of the event takes place.
