Catalunya surpasses the 100 companies present in the Mobile
The Mobile World Congress 2017 will have more Catalan presence than ever. For the first time, the figure of 100 companies of Catalonia in the big congress of the mobile technology will be surpassed.
Specifically, there will be 105 local firms, according to Jordi Baiget, Minister of Enterprise and knowledge of the Generalitat de Catalunya, explained Tuesday at a press conference. There are 17 more than in the previous edition.
68 of these companies will be present in the MWC through stands contracted by the Generalitat de Catalunya. “We are striving to favor the presence of Catalan companies in the Mobile,” said Baiget. In total, there will be more than 1,000 square meters within the MWC intended for local businesses.
In addition, the Govern will promote a space destined only to the drones. “We have companies that are leading in this sector,” argued the minister in this regard, in an event where he was accompanied by the Mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, Secretary of State for the Information Society, José María Lassalle and The General Director of Fira de Barcelona, Constantí Serrallonga.
Precisely, the Barcelona City Council, the Generalitat and the Spanish government have stated that there is “good harmony” and “collaboration between institutions” to promote the Mobile World Congres and the foundation destined to consolidate the Catalan capital as one of the meccas of technology Mobile, the Mobile World Capital Barcelona.
