Singapore Airlines to operate two weekly flights between Barcelona and Singapore without stopping in Milan
Singapore Airlines will operate two weekly flights without technical stop in Milan on the Barcelona-Singapore route, the company said in a statement Tuesday.
The airline will offer these two non-stop flights with the new Airbus A350-900 on Friday and Monday from Barcelona to Singapore and Thursdays and Sundays from Singapore to Barcelona, while it will continue to operate three flights to Singapore via Milan on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays , Offering a total of five flights a week connecting Barcelona with the hub of the airline in Singapore.
The technical stop in Milan for the five weekly flights of the Barcelona-Milan route was introduced in October last year, and the Singapore Airlines general manager in Spain and Portugal, Deryk Liew, has stated that the recent arrival of the A350 at the airport Barcelona offers an “operational efficiency that allows a greater deployment of resources”.
On April 3, the company celebrated the official arrival of the Airbus A350-900 at El Prat Airport, the first of these characteristics to operate a regular route to and from Barcelona.
The new A350 fleet accommodates 253 passengers in three classes: 42 Business class seats, 24 in the new Premium Economy class and 187 tourist class seats.
The airline has highlighted that this aircraft is a “key element” of the growth and renewal strategy of the Singapore Airlines fleet, as it provides the company with the opportunity to open new routes, offering more travel options to customers
