The event, which was traditionally held in the city of Amsterdam, chose to change its location to Barcelona due to the limited space of the Dutch facilities since each year it grew at a rate of 10% in terms of space and 5% in number of visitors
Taking into account the success of fairs such as the MWC, the general director of the ISE, Mike Blackman, remarked in the presentation of the agreement that Barcelona is “the perfect city to continue growing” and that he hopes that the event will favor the emergence of a business ecosystem In this sector. He also declared that Gran Vía de Fira de Barcelona is “one of the main fair institutions in Europe” and “one of the largest and most modern venues on the continent, combining exceptional architecture and functionalities.”
