From 24th to 27th September the Fira de Barcelona celebrates the fifth edition of the show, conceived as a large food market

Barcelona Degusta 5ª Feria Gastronómico popular
Beer and pastry shine, next to the kitchen, in Barcelona Degusta, the popular food festival from 24 to 27 September will be held in Fira de Barcelona and in this fifth edition is designed as a large open gourmet market lovers of good food and drink.
The chef Carles Abellan and Carles Gaig today presented the news of the event, which is expected between 25,000 and 30,000 attendees to coincide with the feast of the Merce, and has provided nearly a hundred of activities including lectures, workshops, tastings, tastings, storytelling, film and even outdoor concerts.

For the sweet tooth in the space BCN & CAKE there will be exhibition areas, courses and competitions sugar flowers, cakes 3D cakes celebration, decorating cupcakes and all sorts of creative modeled by some of the most prestigious pastry chefs like Christian Escribà (Pastry Escribà) and chocolate masters as David Pallàs, plus international Cake Designers.
Great chef Joan Roca (Celler de Can Roca), Carme Ruscalleda (Sant Pau), Fermi Puig, Nandu Jubany (Can Jubany), Carles Gaig (Restaurant Gaig), Carles Abellan (Bravo) and Ada Parellada (Semproniana), among others which make ten Michelin star, will give lectures and workshops that show some of the secrets of his cuisine.
Ruscalleda discuss how to combine cheeses, Nandu Jubany, sweet and savory dishes of rice, Sergio and Javier Torres (Dos Cielos) will star in a ‘show cooking’ on the kitchen with vegetables, Joan Roca presented snacks and cosmopolitan snacks, Carles Abellan try to Barcelona stews and Carles Gaig taught how to prepare macaroni cannelloni and holidays.
For children it has also prepared the space Taste Kids, to begin to learn, enjoy and experiment with food, and give free rein to their imagination; and storytelling, films related to food and gastronomy, workshops processing fruits and cookies, clowns and magicians.
In addition, a picnic area, an urban orchard, a concert area, and space for more than 20 food trucks, which present the latest trends in urban and street food, with a varied cuisine with crepes, sandwiches will be installed, tortillas, croquettes, dairy, sushi or hot dogs, among other proposals.
For those who love new experiences, “Dinners in the sky” (Dinner in the sky) is also served in a platform 50 meters high where they can eat the proposals of chef Xavi Pellicer and enjoy a unique banquet.
The organizers remarked that Barcelona Degusta wants to be like the Salone Internazionale del Gusto in Turin, held every year in this Italian city, which is an international benchmark.
Barcelona Degusta will also accommodate other culinary cultures with demonstrations of traditional Cantonese cuisine in Hong Kong, workshop Okonomiyaki, the best known variety of Japanese omelette, and traditional Mexican tacos.
