L’Hospitalet will host the first European center for the development of traditional Chinese medicine
L’Hospitalet de Llobregat has reached a pre-agreement with the city of Beijing and the Chinese government to host the first European center for the development and promotion of traditional Chinese medicine, as announced by Mayor Núria Marin during the conference Annual report on the state of the second city of Catalonia, #LHSuma, celebrated this afternoon in the renovated municipal market of the neighborhood of Florida.
The project will be located in the biomedical cluster of Granvia, whose PDU will be approved by the Generalitat in the next few days, and plans are being made to build a research building, a space for cultural dissemination and another dedicated to the validation of patents. “It will be a pioneering center of reference in Europe,” said Marín.
If the agreement was initialed, the construction of the equipment will be carried out progressively in the coming years thanks to an investment of 80 million euros. The project has the collaboration of the Generalitat and the University of Barcelona (UB).
Marín has also revealed that the headquarters of the publishing house Santillana Mediterranean arc will be installed in l’Hospitalet. In the presence of Seat chairman Luca de Meo, he has proposed to his city to host the new Volkswagen global data center.
According to Marín, the fruits of “strategy and work to value the city as the central axis of a metropolitan area that under the brand of Barcelona wants to be competitive in Europe and the world are collected.”
