Barcelona wants to attract British investors unhappy with Brexit
The deputy mayor of Enterprise, Culture and Innovation of the City of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni (PSC), wants to attract productive investment and employment quality British business and outside the EU discontented with the Brexit, for what has launched a specific plan.
According to reports today the city of Barcelona in a statement, Collboni drives called “Plan Brexit action” which includes actions prospecting, promotion and recruitment and support services companies, British or not, that ‘landing’ in the Barcelona to invest.
Among other actions, the Brexit Barcelona this fall plan includes organizing visits to British companies working in Barcelona, to retain them and get them to extend their business.
In addition, next October Jaume Collboni will travel to London, where he will meet with representatives of administrations and companies, to offer the city and its advantages for business.
“We will work to promote Barcelona as business environment and attract economic activity and one of the first actions has been to offer the city’s bid to host the European Medicines Agency,” says the council.
The plan, which is not practical if you have own budget, includes actions coordinated with the Department of Enterprise and Knowledge of the Generalitat, as the support of the 35 field offices of the Catalan government worldwide and its network of ambassadors economic.
It also provides seek state support, in particular as regards achieving the headquarters of the European Medicines Agency for the Catalan capital.
The Barcelona Council reminds the lowest price in the cost of city offices, “good supply of human resources, with very competitive salaries compared to the British” a “powerful” industry, “own entrepreneurial ecosystem and is the crosshairs of the venture capital (VC) “and a high quality of life that” attracts and retains talent, “among other attractions.
