More than a quarantine restaurants are part of this guide endorsed by the Celiac Association of Catalonia
A total of 41 restaurants are included in the only gluten free restaurant guide of Barcelona, certified by the Celiac Association of Catalonia, which is destined to make available the gastronomic pleasure.
Edited by Time Out, the guide has been driven by the Barcelona Restaurant Guild and the City of Barcelona, and has the support and technical review of the Celiac Association of Catalonia and sponsorship of Solan de Cabras.
The certification by the Celiac Association has an annual basis and to renew it, it must pass periodic checks by technicians.
Celiacs President of Catalunya, Olga Cuesta, explained today at the presentation of the new guide “certifies that all equipment in the restaurant, both inside the kitchen and the living, know and apply food safety protocols of the association. ”
The association estimates that celiac disease affects one in every hundred people and in the case of Barcelona have 16,000 celiac, but “only 2,000 of those have been diagnosed.”
The guide offers celiac gluten-free shops all tastes: Japanese, Italian, restaurants with traditional cuisine, with local cuisine based on fresh products, creative cuisine and signature hamburger, butchers, Sandwich bars and brasseries.
The editor of Time Out, Eduard Voltas, has reported that “in addition to the book version, which has a first printing of 10,000 copies and is free”, have published a more popular version inside with special format in the number of magazine of December 4, which will have a circulation of 150,000 copies.
According Voltas, this guide “is not just for celiacs, but also for their families, friends and coworkers.”
