The 55th edition of the Barcelona Boat Show will bring together the largest offer of sports and recreational boating in Spain sector. The event, which will take place from 12 to 16 October in the Port Vell, will attract major companies such as Beneteau, CNB-Lagoon, Conade, Fountaine Pajot, Jeanneau, Marina Estrella Marina Marbella, Metropol Marine, Yamaha or Zodiac, among others.
“The event will demonstrate its full potential as more main trading platform and meeting of sports and recreational boating sector in Spain,” he stressed the president of the hall, Luis Conde. This year, under the motto ‘Live the sea’, the show wants to establish itself as a space for fun and new experiences, both among fans in general and among those who are new in this world. For the show’s director, Jordi Freixas, “one of the main objectives is to spread the culture of the sea and show that there are multiple ways to enjoy it.”
The Boat Show will occupy the docks of Spain and Fusta of the Port Vell ; spaces that will host an extensive program of activities and experiences. Visitors will enjoy again both the floating sample, with boats from 8 meters, and the exhibition ground, presenting products and nautical services.
Meeting point for startups and investors
In this edition, entrepreneurs related to nautical sector gain in prominence with the organization of a day in which representatives of innovative companies emerging technology-based profile or present their projects to potential investors and firms in the sector. Another of the highlights is the round table dedicated to nautical sports, participate in key players involved in the sailing competition.
The event also bet on gastronomy. A catamaran will host the Show Boat Gastronomic where gourmets can make tastings of premium products, in addition to attending lectures on culinary trends.
Registrations up
The number of recreational boat registrations increased by 3.7% for new ships and 11.5% for the rental market in the first half of 2016. “This season enrollment growth has slowed relative to the last three years, however note that the change in business models and creating new companies, more oriented towards offering services and the incorporation of new technologies in management, continues to progress, “says Carlos Sanlorenzo, secretary general of the National Association of Marine.
