Barcelona moves up to third place worldwide meeting tourism
Barcelona has been ranked third international city with the highest number of tourism of meetings organized in 2015, behind Berlin and Paris, according to the ranking prepared by the Association of Congresses and Conventions (ICCA).
As it reported by Barcelona Tourism, the city has established itself as a destination for meetings to be organized a total of 180 meetings in 2015, which has allowed him to climb two positions and move from fifth place to third.
Business tourism represents for Barcelona a direct economic impact of around 1,500 million euros annually and indirect, because it affects a wide range of companies from different sectors, such as food, transportation and car rental.
One of the highlights of the conference tourism is its contribution to the seasonal nature of the phenomenon, and conferences and fairs such as the Mobile World Congress and Alimentaria are examples of the attraction of the city in low season.
