A Sitges Film Festival “more feminine than ever” will present from October 7th to 16th more than 170 films in different sections of the contest that offered the vision of “a great date,” said Monday the director Angel Sala.
Among the 170 films there are established names genre film as Adam Wingard, Rob Zombie, Paul Schrader, Takashi Miike, Kiyoshi Kurosawa, Ti West, Bill Plympton, Isaki Lacuesta, Miguel Angel Vivas, Jonás Cuarón, Na Hong-jin, Julia Ducournau , Keishi Otomo, Carles Torrens, Mateo Gil, Mike Flanagan or Anurag Kashyap.
In programming films featuring familiar faces from the big screen as Gael García Bernal, Nicolas Cage, Glenn Close, Kate Bosworth, Keanu Reeves, Malcolm McDowell, Anne Hathaway, Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine, Antonio de la Torre, María Valverde will be shown Feng Xiaogang, Choi Min-sik, Doona Bae, Brontis Jodorowsky or Kristen Stewart.
Angel Sala said that “as happened in the last edition of the festival of San Sebastian in Sitges will be movies with violence, as a consubstantial gender element, and specifically to horror movies, which this year has a special role” .
