The fire alarm company will centralize all your European business from Barcelona
The Chinese multinational Jade Bird has chosen Barcelona for its first European headquarters. Dedicated to the production of fire alarms for hospitals, factories and stores, it has more than 2,000 workers and the headquarters in Beijing.
In the beginning Jade Bird will create a fortnight of jobs to the Catalan capital this year and will centralize from here all its European business. Likewise, it will open some offices with an area of 250 square meters from where it will manage both the engineering and marketing of its products.
When the company decided to expand into Europe, it was looking for “a city that offers a solid foundation for long-term business,” said Brian J. Stumm, vice president and general manager of Jade Bird Fire Alarm International Europe. “We chose Barcelona as the headquarters for its logistics, access to markets and splendid technical community, “he said. Now, the company is looking for a fortnight of workers for its new staff in Barcelona, with profiles of engineering, technical support, marketing, sales and administration.
These systems include smoke and heat detectors, manual alarms and control modules adapted to the regulations and needs of the European market.
“We intend to increase this figure in the future as we grow to support our customers both locally and Europeanly,” stressed Stumm. The company has had the support of Catalonia Trade Investment, the area of attraction of foreign investments of ACCIÓ, to settle in Barcelona.
