PortAventura World has announced the date of public opening of the new Ferrari Land theme park dedicated to the prestigious Italian car Prancing Horse. It will be on April 7, 2017, meeting the schedule and coinciding with the start of the new season in PortAventura.
Ferrari Land will occupy 60,000 square meters and will have several attractions “with a high component of adrenaline,” especially the vertical accelerator with 112 meters, and can be considered the highest roller coaster in Europe. The park is designed for families and fans of the Ferrari brand of all ages.
Giovanni Cavalli, general manager of the commercial area of PortAventura World, said that with the launch of Ferrari Land, PortAventura World will become “holiday destination worldwide reference” for its offer of three theme parks, one aquatic, in a unique resort.
The star attraction of the park Ferrari Land is the vertical accelerator, which, with a capacity of 1,200 passengers per hour, will accelerate the car from 0 to 180 km / h in just five seconds and lift them up to 112 meters high by one of the arms of the tower. Then he will plummet down the other side, with an interval of 30 seconds. The goal is to simulate the experience of a Formula 1 driver.

Ferrari Land will involve an investment of about 100 million euros. It will include a reproduction of iconic buildings in Maranello, the city that hosts the headquarters of the Italian team. There will also be architectural references of other great emblematic monuments such as the Roman Colosseum.
In the central part of the new theme park Ferrari Experience, a space which have not yet transcended many details are located.
