Barcelona City Council enables 1,200 square meters on the beach of Llevant as pilot only during the bathing season
Barcelona City Council created this summer as a pilot a space dog beach at the beach of Llevant of the city, which will have 1,200 square meters and can be used by the dogs in full bathing season test, when the presence of prohibited these animals in the other beaches. It would be released this June and be operational until the last Sunday in September, when the season ends.
This was announced on Friday the deputy mayor of Ecology, Urban and Mobility, Janet Sanz, in a press conference which announced that new spaces to walk the dogs and enjoy your free time with them will be created.
Proximity Playgrounds
The council provides for two types of spaces for dogs: large playgrounds and areas differentiated by sharing slots. Each district will have at least a recreation area over 700 m2 and each district, at least one area with schedules sharing. In both cases, within these spaces may be loose dogs, except dangerous breeds.
In the recreation areas will be urban for the rest of pet owners (chairs, benches, fountains, litter bins) furniture and for the animals to jump, play and exercise (fences, games, vegetation). Thus, the council has defined a catalog of items that will be accompanied by a Statement for design, implementation and maintenance inspired by the recommendations of the report worked with the College of Veterinarians of Barcelona (BVOCs).
