Commemorates the 70th anniversary of Freddie Mercury
The Hard Rock Cafe Barcelona will commemorate the 70th anniversary of Freddie Mercury with Queen tribute concert backed by Brian May to raise funds in the fight against HIV, as reported Monday the restaurant in a statement.
The proposal is part of the ‘Freddie for a day’, a charitable international day in memory of the dead in 1991 as a result of this disease singer. The work, which aims to raise 12,000 euros for the foundation, will be in charge of the band Momo, the only Spanish-speaking group chosen to play at the XXIV Queen Fan Convention in England.
Guitarist Brian May, a member of the band Queen, will be present at the celebration and raffle one of his guitars that he signed for Hard Rock Cafe Barcelona during his last visit to the city. The ‘Freddie for a day’, to be held on September 5, will provide customers with music of Queen, solidarity mustaches in support of the foundation Mercury Phoenix Trust and “a very special karaoke“.
