Today starts in the city the first European edition of this international event conceived as a meeting of the sector

Barcelona wants to ensure their place in the ecosystem of technology startups worldwide. After Startup Weekend, comes the Barcelona Startup Week, which starts today. It is the first time a European city is hosting this international event designed as a meeting place for investors and entrepreneurs.
The proposal has been well received. “There are currently 963 registered and we expect to exceed the thousand,” said the head of the event visible, Jordi Boza, CEO of the startup Remote Eye.
The event is divided into two types of sessions: the morning, conceived as master classes by experts, and in the afternoon, focusing on the success stories of some companies, as Wallapop, CartoDB, Ulabox, Letsbonus .. .
Also participating major industry names like Luis Martin Cabiedes, over forty investor in startups, Rodolfo Carpintier, founder of the incubator Digital Assets Deployment or Sofia Benjumea, Madrid Campus Director of Google for Entrepreneurs.
At the end of each day there is a meeting “After Work” with which it is intended precisely to enhance the relational aspect. “It is an event of and for entrepreneurs. Looking encourage networking, to create synergies between the different agents,” says Boza.
The last day will be a competition for startups, where the most interesting projects will be selected and will receive various prizes, such as preferential access to programs acceleration or double to attend the next edition of 4YFN entries.
Unlike other conferences and events on the same field, Barcelona Startup Week is free for attendees. To attend the meetings only you need to register and reserve a place in those to which you wish to attend (many of them have already hung the sign completely).
The Barcelona Startup Week, driven by Techstars (one of the largest US startups incubators), will run from September 27th to October 2nd and registration can be done at no cost through the website of the event.
