The Monument Hotel adds to establishments with five star luxury Barcelona
“The simple notes of a perfume can be transported to the world of luxury and elegance.” To that refers Miriam Cortijo, director of Monument Hotel Barcelona when it refers to the fragrance specially created by Jo Malone for the establishment of Passeig de Gràcia and brings aromas of French lily identifying its luxury category.
Of premodern heritage, the hotel is the result of the remodeling of an old mansion, Casa Enric Batlló, built between 1895 and 1896 by Josep Vilaseca. The framers of rehabilitation are Carles Moreno Tote Bassó and collaboration with Oscar Tusquets. It is a project in which modern elements coexist with the original architecture of the building, such as the facade and the main staircase, which have been preserved. The challenge, according to its directors, has been carrying out structural reform to create a large space without barriers.
For this purpose they have transformed the ancient walls of the building load in a tree-shaped beam presiding over the hotel lobby.
With 8,000 m2, houses 84 rooms and suites with all amenities and the latest technology. In the decoration of rooms known “panot” Gaudí (hexagonal tile) it is distinguished, an artistic nod that refers to the place where the hotel, the elegant Paseo de Gracia is located.
